When LGC was founded in 2003, we were operating solely in Indianapolis. Over the past 18 years, we’ve expanded to 37 cities across the country. Each local office is diverse and integral to the success of LGC. This series will look at our offices individually, highlighting what makes them unique.
Named after King Louis XVI of France, Louisville is one of the oldest cities west of the Appalachian Mountains, founded in 1778. Also nicknamed “Derby City” after – you guessed it – the Kentucky Derby, Louisville has been home to the LGC Louisville office since March 2005. We’re proud to celebrate 16 wonderful years in this location and have had the opportunity to work at some memorable events.
In addition to the Kentucky Derby, LGC has been fortunate to provide staff for the Bourbon & Beyond Festival, events with the American Heart Association, and the city’s main event: The Kentucky Derby. In addition to its lineup of events, Louisville is home to an impressive food and beverage program displaying iconic regional dishes like “the hot brown” and “derby pie.”
Even though Louisville represents great culture and activities, that’s not the main reason we enjoy operating in this city; it’s because of the people. Some of the employees in Louisville that work with LGC have been with us since we opened 16 years ago. Their dedication and hard work has been vital in the success of our office. In addition to providing temporary assignments, we’ve had the opportunity to place amazing employees in full-time positions, and often have them come back to tell us about their promotions and success which makes it all worthwhile.
Devin Harley, the manager of LGC Louisville says that although their office faced challenges during the earlier days of the pandemic, they came out stronger and with more knowledge than before. They’ve proven their resiliency and dedication and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for this office in the future.
